Titling A Blog

It's really more difficult than I can adequately express to name a blog. A title needs to be interesting and clue the reader in on what they will be reading about, yet concise. I thought it would be fun to name my blog "It's Miller Time" since Miller is my last name and most people would know the slogan.

There were two issues with this title:
1. It is a slogan (or at least I think it was an official slogan) of a popular brand of beer (bet you can't guess which one!). I really don't want to get sued...it's definitely not one of my life goals.
2. I didn't want to give the impression that I'm a drinker, especially considering I am a member of a Mennonite church. I don't want my fellow church members thinking I spend my weekends perusing the local bars. Plus, beer is just disgusting. Sorry Miller Brewing Co., it's nothing personal.

So I was kind of stuck, coming up with cheesy title after cheesy title and then I thought of "The Makings of Me". Cute, concise, interesting (at least in my humble opinion). I googled it (ok not really. I'm old school and still use yahoo but no one says "I yahoo-ed it"...maybe I should be the one to coin the phrase). I yahoo-ed it and discovered, to my dismay, that a singer named Monica has an album named that. I've heard of Monica but have never listened to her music. Then I made the mistake of clicking on the article about the album. Yup, she's pretty naked from the waist up on the album cover. There are things strategically placed to cover the goods...but she's definitely naked. Ughhhhhh...

Again, decisions...decisions. Do I really want the name of my blog to be associated with an album that boasts a naked woman on the cover and again, do I want to be sued? I decided to keep the name anyway (please don't sue me!) because I like it that much. A busy singer like Monica probably doesn't have time to sue little old me (I'm not sure she's really very busy these days but that's not really the point).

So this is me. One thing I will say about myself it that my grammar may not be well refined. I always did very well in English, but I took more of a liking to Math. And well, let's face it, grammar (and spelling for that matter) is not so important in Math. So if I make a mistake I apologize. Please forgive me. I am who I am. Hope you enjoy!

Sincerely,
The girl who will have to change her name and relocate to avoid having the pants sued off of her.
